Sri Lanka, Dec. 18 -- The Chinese government has deployed a team of drone experts to assist Sri Lanka in identifying areas damaged and at risk of flooding and landslides following Cyclone Ditva, the Disaster Management Center (DMC) said.
According to the DMC, the expert team that arrived in Sri Lanka is currently conducting assessments in several locations in the Kandy District, including Gampola, Tambarigala, Warakapitiya, Ulapane, Nawapitiya, Atabage and Ambuluwawa. The operation is being carried out under the guidance and coordination of the Disaster Management Center.
The drone-based surveys are aimed at mapping affected areas and identifying vulnerable zones to support disaster response, mitigation measures and future planning.
