Sri Lanka, June 2 -- A member of the Bulathsinhala Pradeshiya Sabha representing the United National Party (UNP) has been arrested by the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) over allegations of operating an illegal foreign employment racket.

The suspect, identified as Ranthatige Nissanka Priyadarshana, alias "Dubai Sudda," was arrested in Kaduwela yesterday(01) by officers attached to the Special Investigations Division of the SLBFE.

According to the Bureau, the arrest followed a complaint lodged by a resident of Giriulla, who alleged that the suspect had obtained Rs. 700,000 after promising employment in Dubai but had failed to provide the job as promised.
