Sri Lanka, March 23 -- Two pilots have been killed after an Air Canada plane collided with a firefighting vehicle at New York's LaGuardia Airport, authorities say

Port Authority Executive Director Kathryn Garcia says the plane was carrying 72 people, while two officers were inside the ground vehicle

The airport is expected to remain closed until at least 14:00 ET (18:00 GMT) as an investigation has been launched

Pictures show the plane - a CRJ 900 model - suffered significant damage, as video footage shows the aircraft coming to a rest with its nose upturned
