Sri Lanka, Nov. 1 -- Two magazines containing live ammunition were discovered at the upper section of the Jaffna University library last Thursday (30) during routine cleaning operations. The finding prompted heightened security measures around the campus.

Personnel from the police Special Task Force's bomb disposal unit collected the magazines and transferred them to the Kopay Police Station for further investigations yesterday (31).

The magazines reportedly contained 59 rounds of ammunition, along with wires of unknown purpose. The items were found wrapped in an old newspaper dated 2005, under the library's roof area.
