Sri Lanka, Oct. 18 -- Two Fundamental Rights petitions including National Freedom Front leader and former Parliamentarian Wimal Weerawansa challenging the Cabinet decision to implement the Sri Lanka Unique Digital Identity (SLUDI) Programme, which is funded through a grant from the Government of India was yesterday dismissed by Supreme Court.
Supreme Court three-judge-Bench comprising Chief Justice Preethi Padman Surasena, Justice Mahinda Samayawardena and Justice Arjuna Obeyesekere refused to grant leave to proceed with the petitions and dismissed them at the inception.
