Sri Lanka, Dec. 18 -- Former Anuradhapura District Parliamentarians Janak Mahendra Adhikari and S. C. Muthukumarana have passed away following periods of illness.

Janak Mahendra Adhikari, who also served as the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) organiser for the Kekirawa electorate, passed away at the age of 60 after a brief illness.Sri Lanka travel

Deputy Minister of Prisons and Corrections S. C. Muthukumarana passed away yesterday evening after being unwell for some time.

Muthukumarana began his political career in local government and was a member of the Thalawa Pradeshiya Sabha.

He later served as the Leader of the North Central Provincial Council during the tenure of former Chief Minister Bertie Premalal Dissanayake.
