Sri Lanka, April 24 -- The Health Ministry has reported two cases of Measles in the Colombo District. The cases come after Sri Lanka was declared measles-free by the World Health Organization in 2019. Authorities noted that no measles cases had been recorded in the country since January 2025, making the latest detections particularly concerning. They also highlighted that sporadic outbreaks have been reported in some areas since 2023.
