Sri Lanka, Feb. 6 -- Twenty newly recruited female bus conductors officially received their appointment letters from the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) today (06), marking the first time women have been appointed to serve in the role within the state-run bus service.Sri Lanka travel guide
The appointment ceremony was held at the Makumbura Multimodal Transport Centre.
Deputy Minister of Mass Media Dr. Kaushalya Ariyarathne, Member of Parliament Samanmalee Gunasinghe, and SLTB Chairman Sajeewa Kanakarathna attended the event.
SLTB also introduced a newly designed uniform for the female conductors during the ceremony, alongside their formal induction into service.
