Sri Lanka, Dec. 19 -- Transport and Highways Deputy Minister Dr. Prasanna Gunasena informed Parliament yesterday (18) that train services to the North and East will be fully resumed from January 1, 2026.

The Deputy Minister also informed Parliament that steps have been taken to commence train services to Talaimannar from February 1, 2026.

He made this statement while addressing the House during the debate on the current disaster situation in the country that took place in Parliament yesterday.
