Sri Lanka, Aug. 3 -- Minister of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development Wasantha Samarasinghe has called on Sri Lanka's overseas Commercial Officers to play a more proactive role in expanding exports, attracting foreign investment and strengthening the country's economic presence in global markets.

Addressing a virtual meeting with Commercial Officers of the Department of Commerce serving at Sri Lanka's Foreign Missions on July 31, the Minister stressed that the officers, stationed across 23 commercially significant markets, have a critical responsibility in advancing Sri Lanka's trade and broader economic interests abroad.
