Sri Lanka, Feb. 17 -- A 68-year-old Hungarian national has died following a wild elephant attack on the Sigiriya-Pidurangala road yesterday (16).
According to initial police reports, the victim and his wife were walking along the road when they encountered the animal.
While the woman managed to escape, the man sustained fatal injuries during the attack.
The Sigiriya Police are currently conducting a full investigation into the incident.
Local authorities have frequently advised visitors to exercise extreme caution when traveling on foot in areas known for elephant activity, particularly during dawn and dusk.
