He said Letters of Credit (LCs) worth US$1.9 billion had been opened for vehicle imports during 2024 and 2025, while LCs valued at a further US$ 1.69 billion had been opened so far this year. Vehicle imports have accelerated in 2026, with more than 79,000 cars, 12,000 commercial vehicles, 3,148 buses and vans, 317,000 motorcycles and 40,000 three-wheelers imported so far, according to the Deputy Minister.
