Sri Lanka, Aug. 13 -- A timekeeper attached to the Western Provincial Road Passenger Transport Authority was arrested in Borella yesterday by officers of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption.
According to officials, the suspect was caught while soliciting a bribe of Rs. 200 per trip from a private bus operator in exchange for signing the bus schedule, arranging running times, and granting access to all scheduled routes.
The arrest took place at the Kaduwela bus stand following a complaint lodged by a bus driver from Heiyanthuduwa.
