Sri Lanka, Jan. 10 -- The Eleventh Conference of the Parties (COP-Eleven) to the World Health Organization Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC) was held recently in Geneva, Switzerland. Sri Lanka was represented as part of the government delegation by Dr. Ananda Ratnayake, Chairperson of the National Authority on Tobacco and Alcohol (NATA), and Prof. Hemantha Amarasinghe, Board Member of NATA. Civil society representation was provided by Sampath De Seram, Executive Director of the Alcohol and Drug Information Centre (ADIC), and Dr. Manuja Perera, Editor of the Centre for Combating Tobacco (CCT), representing the Global Alliance for Tobacco Control (GATC).
