Sri Lanka, Aug. 13 -- Thurstan College Colombo pulled off a nail-biting 33 points (four goals, one try) to 29 (two goals, three tries) victory over Science College Mount Lavinia in their Bowl Segment clash of the Dialog Schools League Rugby Tournament 2025, played at the Sugathadasa Stadium yesterday after leading 19-17 at 'lemons'.

Thurstan led 19-17 at half-time in a game that swung back and forth until the final whistle. The win secured Thurstan third place in the Bowl Segment, closing their season on a high under coach Shamly Nawaz.

Thurstan's powerful number eight, Sithija Jayathilake, was the star of the evening, scoring five tries - three of them from rolling mauls - in a display of strength and clinical finishing.
