Sri Lanka, May 19 -- The South-West monsoon is gradually establishing over Sri Lanka, bringing showers and strong winds to several parts of the island.

Showers or thundershowers are expected at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North-western provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts.

Several spells of showers are also forecast for the Northern Province and the Anuradhapura and Hambantota districts.

Meanwhile, a few showers or thundershowers may develop after 2.00 p.m. in the Uva and Eastern provinces and in the Polonnaruwa district.
