SriLanka, Oct. 31 -- Three police officers including two sergeants and a constable attached to the Kobeigane Police Station have been interdicted following the death of a 41 year old suspect while in custody.

Police Media Spokesman ASP F.U.Wootler stated yesterday (30) that this disciplinary action was taken against the three police officers for dereliction of duty. He stated that local villagers in the Baddegama area of Kobeigane have captured a man who was suspected of multiple burglaries in the area on October 25 afternoon and tied him to a tree. They have subsequently informed and handed over the suspect to the Kobeigane Police.
