Sri Lanka, Sept. 5 -- The Government has decided to liquidate 33 currently inactive State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) under the supervision of the Special Liquidation Unit, Cabinet Spokesman and Minister of Health and Mass Media Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa said.

He emphasised that it has been deemed appropriate to close down certain categories of state entities, including statutory bodies, State corporations and State-owned companies, that no longer contribute meaningfully to the national economy or public services, rather than allowing them to remain as a financial burden on the Government.
