Sri Lanka, Oct. 22 -- Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickremaratne informed Parliament that in accordance with Article 121(1) of the Constitution, 11 additional petitions have been filed with the Supreme Court (SC) regarding the Protection of the State from Terrorism Bill, in addition to the 25 petitions previously submitted.
He made this announcement to the House during the Speaker's statement, following the convening of Parliament yesterday (21).
The Speaker also stated that in relation to the Sri Lanka Cricket Bill, in addition to the 30 petitions mentioned in his announcement on Tuesday (20), as having been filed with the Supreme Court, an additional three petitions have been submitted; the Speaker confirmed that he has received copies of them as...
