Sri Lanka, Oct. 14 -- Tharushi Abhisheka and Omel Shashintha once again came to the highlight yesterday at the All Island Schools Athletic Championship at Diyagama Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium when they set up new records and also ensured the places at World Junior Athletic Championship next year in Eugene, USA.

Tharushi of Wickramabahu National School Gampola continued her record breaking streak in middle distance running this time set up girls' under 18, 800m record with an impressive time of 2.07:90 minutes and surpassed the entry standard of 2.09.00 for the Under 20 World Athletic Championship next year. The previous day Tharushi, the Asian Youth Gold medalist set up a new 1500m record with a time of 4.29.47.
