Sri Lanka, Sept. 22 -- Sri Lanka's number one professional golfer N. Thangaraja showed nerves of steel to capture the Chennai Open title on Friday with a total of 17-under 271 at the Cosmo TNGF Golf Course in Chennai, India.
The 44-year-old from Royal Colombo Golf Club, carded a final round one-over 73, but his earlier brilliance was enough to secure a one-shot win in the Rs 1 crore event, powered by CPCL. His round scores of 69, 66, 63 and 73 gave him his sixth career win on the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) and his second victory this season.
