Sri Lanka, Sept. 27 -- St. Sylvester's College, the king makers of school boxing, has made Kandy proud by winning the 106th Stubbs Shield Inter-School Boxing Championship, which makes them their fifth consecutive title and 19th overall.
The fight in the ring took place at the Royal MAS Arena, from 21st to 25th. St. Sylvester's College started participating in national boxing championships in 1953 when they won their first championship, led by captain Nihal Pelpola, establishing the school's prominent role in Sri Lankan boxing history. St. Sylvester's College, Kandy has a rich boxing history.
