Srilanka, Feb. 15 -- Investigations into the brutal killing of lawyer Buddhika Mallawarachchi and his wife have taken a critical turn.

At approximately 1:00 AM today (15), a car suspected of being used by the gunmen was discovered set on fire in the Agaliya area of Mulkada, Baddegama.

The vehicle was completely gutted by the flames in what appears to be an attempt to destroy forensic evidence.

Baddegama Police have cordoned off the scene and are conducting a comprehensive investigation, including a search for CCTV footage along the route to determine the suspects' escape path.
