Sri Lanka, Oct. 9 -- The suspect Mohammed Athif arrested by the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) on Wednesday (7) over an alleged scheme to transfer more than Rs.7.5 billion worth of foreign currency overseas under the guise of importing goods was remanded until October 15 by Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanka Bodaragama yesterday (8).

During the proceedings, a State Counsel appearing for the FCID told the court that the suspect was the eighth person named in the investigation.
