Sri Lanka, Sept. 22 -- Two jeeps that were illegally assembled from various vehicle parts and altered from their original models have been seized by the Norwood Police Traffic Division.

According to Nuwara Eliya District Chief Motor Vehicle Inspector Jaliya Bandara, a resident of Norwood who collects scrap metal, was building the two jeeps using the registration certificates of old, non-operational jeeps. He was planning to sell the finished vehicles.

The Norwood Police Traffic Division is taking legal action against the suspect. The Hatton Magistrate's Court has ordered a report from the Government Analyst and instructed the Norwood Police to have the two jeeps inspected and submit the findings to the court.
