Sri Lanka, Aug. 4 -- Kandy Police say that an 18-year-old student also member of the college rugby team from a leading school in Colombo and an army soldier were arrested with live bullets in their possession in Kandy yesterday.
The two were arrested during a search conducted by police officers who were in Kandy for perahera duties near the Kandy Patthini Devalaya and the Joy Boat Service at the Kandy Lake Circle. The student had one T-56 type live ammunition and two empty cartridges in his possession, while the army soldier had two T-56 type live ammunition, police said.
