Srilanka, Nov. 5 -- Sri Lanka's martial arts community will unite today, November 5, to celebrate a golden milestone - 50 years since Master Prasanna Jayaweera first introduced Wushu to the nation in 1975, building a lasting legacy that has inspired two generations of fighters and coaches. Known as the "Father of Sri Lankan Wushu and Wing Chun," Jayaweera was honoured at a grand tribute ceremony bringing together his students, followers and global martial arts leaders. The event, held at DSS Club House,was organised by his most renowned disciple Don Tiran 'Tornado' Thakshala, a former fighting champion, international referee and founder of COBRA KAI Martial Arts in the UAE, alongside UAE legal counsellor Salem Hamdan Al Ameri.
