SriLanka, Sept. 29 -- Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath has reiterated Sri Lanka's call for de-escalation and the peaceful settlement of disputes through dialogue and diplomacy during a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Dr. Seyed Abbas Araghchi.

In a statement published on his official X account, Herath said he held discussions with Araghchi during the High-Level Week of the 81st United Nations General Assembly .

He further mentioned the two ministers exchanged views on current regional and international developments.
