Sri Lanka, Oct. 22 -- Sri Lanka's men's football team have climbed four places in the latest FIFA World Rankings, moving from 197th to 193rd among 210 ranked nations, following their impressive performance in the AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027 Qualifiers.

The latest rankings, officially updated yesterday, came after Sri Lanka recorded a memorable 1-0 victory against Turkmenistan in their home match on October 9 at the Racecourse Grounds in Colombo. The Lions later suffered a narrow 1-2 defeat in the return leg played in Turkmenistan on October 14.

This result marks a positive turn for Sri Lankan football, reflecting steady progress under the current national setup.
