Srilanka, July 14 -- The Ministry of Environment is set to launch "Wanaspathi" - Sri Lanka's Forest Conservation and Protection Program tomorrow (15), under the leadership of Environment Minister Dr. Dammika Patabendi and Deputy Minister Anton Jayakody.

This long-term national initiative aligns with the government's new environmental policy and Sri Lanka's commitments under the Paris Agreement, which includes a key target of increasing national forest cover to 32% by 2030. The program also builds upon conservation efforts initiated on World Environment Day.
