Sri Lanka, Sept. 8 -- Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya's official visit to Bhutan has opened new avenues for co-operation between the two countries, placing education, sustainable development, environmental protection and people-centred growth at the centre of Sri Lanka-Bhutan relations.

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya undertook an official visit to the Kingdom of Bhutan from 31 August to 4 September 2026, at the invitation of the Royal Government of Bhutan, to participate in the inaugural Global Conscious Food Systems Summit 2026 in Paro.
