Sri Lanka, Aug. 14 -- The Inland Revenue Department states that the Value Added Tax (VAT) for the month of July 2026 must be paid on or before August 20.

The Department emphasizes that fines will be imposed on taxpayers who fail to pay on the due date or make late payments. It is further notified that any tax payment made by cheque, bank draft, or payment order will also be treated as a late payment if it is not received and cleared by the due date. In addition, the Social Security Contribution Levy (SSCL) for the month of July must also be paid on or before August 20.
