Sri Lanka, Aug. 13 -- The Agricultural and Agrarian Insurance Board, functioning under the Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation Ministry, has taken steps to implement a special insurance scheme against natural disasters for cattle, goat, sheep, and pig farm shelters and damage caused by wild animals.
Agricultural and Agrarian Insurance Board Chairman Pemasiri Jasingaarachchi said that compensation up to Rs.2.5 million will be paid under this insurance coverage for damage caused to farm sheds by floods, cyclones, lightning strikes, landslides, and wild animals.
