Sri Lanka, March 28 -- The Deputy Minister of Highways, Dr. Prasanna Gunasena, announced plans to introduce a modern digital ticketing system and upgraded inspection equipment across railway stations island-wide, following a field visit to several stations.

Under the CSRP project, while online ticket booking was already available, the new system will replace traditional paper tickets with digital ones. As a pilot initiative, the program is set to launch in April at selected stations along the Kelani Valley line, including Narahenpita, Nugegoda, Makumbura, Homagama, and Padukka.
