Sri Lanka, Aug. 13 -- A manager of the government affiliated Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Agency (SLFEA) has been arrested on suspicion of defrauding a young man of Rs.945,000 by promising him a job in Romania.
The suspect was arrested during a raid conducted by officers of the Special Investigation Division of the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment at the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Agency office in Narahenpita yesterday afternoon. A man from the Bandarawela area had complained to the SLBFE that the suspect had deceived him and obtained money on several occasions since 2023, promising him a job as an assistant in a factory in Romania.
