SL and Thailand discuss visa exemptions and deepening bilateral ties
Sri Lanka, Sept. 17 -- Sri Lanka and Thailand have agreed to further strengthen their longstanding bilateral relations, following a productive meeting between Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Minister Vijitha Herath and Thailand's Acting Foreign Affairs Minister Sarun Charoensuwan in Bangkok.
During the meeting, discussions focused on expediting arrangements for a visa exemption for holders of ordinary passports. The proposed arrangement is expected to facilitate travel, tourism and people to people exchanges between the two countries.
The two sides also discussed expanding cooperation further in several areas, including trade, investment, tourism, labour mobility, education, maritime security and cultural exchanges.
