Sri Lanka, July 6 -- Sihina Dilsara, who acted as the getaway driver for the shooters involved in the double murder of a lawyer and his wife in front of a supermarket in Akuregoda, was arrested in the Maldives by a special Sri Lankan Police team. He was brought back to the Katunayake International Airport on Saturday evening.

The suspect, Sihina Dilsara, is a 23-year-old resident of the Ethkandura in Batapola, Galle.

The fatal shooting of the lawyer and his wife took place earlier this year on February 13, 2026. Following the crime, Dilsara fled the country via the Katunayake Airport on February 17, travelling first to Thailand, then to Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, before returning to Thailand.
