Sri Lanka, Oct. 15 -- Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanka S. Boderagama yesterday (14) ordered the release on strict bail conditions, of former State Minister Shasheendra Rajapaksa, who was arrested and remanded by the Bribery Commission on corruption charges.
The Magistrate, who considered the bail application made by President's Counsel Anuja Premaratne stating that his client has been in remand custody for over 70 days and is suffering from serious medical conditions, ordered the suspect to be released on a cash bail of Rs. 50,000 and three sureties of Rs. 2 million each.
