Sri Lanka, June 17 -- Health and Mass Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa stated that Sri Lanka is experiencing a sharp increase in dengue cases, with health authorities warning of elevated risks across 14 districts amid prevailing rainy weather conditions.
According to the Health Ministry, 8,591 dengue cases were reported in May, while a further 8,390 cases have been recorded so far in June, bringing the total number of cases reported this year to 42,232. The highest number of infections has been reported from the Western Province, as well as several districts in the Southern, Central, North Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces.
