Sri Lanka, Oct. 29 -- Several spells of showers are expected in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as in the Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts today (29), according to the Department of Meteorology.

Showers or thundershowers are likely at a few places in the Uva Province and in the Batticaloa, Ampara and Hambantota districts after 1.00 p.m.

Mainly fair weather conditions are expected in other parts of the island.

The public is advised to take adequate precautions to minimise possible damage from temporary localised strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
