Sri Lanka, Oct. 24 -- Seven individuals were remanded by the court yesterday (23) after being arrested on charges of operating, promoting, and managing a pyramid scheme, police confirmed.

The arrests followed an investigation conducted by the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID), acting on information received from the Inspector General of Police (IGP).

The suspects, aged 40 to 64, are residents of Ratmalana, Pannipitiya, Galnewa, Hokandara, Peradeniya, and Colombo 04.

Authorities have stated that the FCID is continuing further investigations into the case.
