Sri Lanka, July 15 -- The election to appoint the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Seethawaka Pradeshiya Sabha, held for the second time today (15), was postponed indefinitely due to a lack of quorum.
The session, which commenced at 9:30 a.m., was presided over by Western Local Government Commissioner Sarangika Kalhari Jayasundara. Despite efforts to proceed with the election, disagreements arose between parties over whether to use a secret or open ballot. A vote was held to decide the method, resulting in 24 members supporting a secret ballot and 23 favoring an open vote.
