Sri Lanka, Feb. 25 -- Police have apprehended a second suspect believed to be involved in the targeted killing of a lawyer and his wife in Akuregoda.

The arrest was made yesterday (24) in the Uva Province following a coordinated investigation by the Police Media Division.

The suspect is currently in police custody and is being interrogated to uncover further details regarding the attack.

This follows the recent arrest of the first suspected shooter on February 21 in Ambalangoda.

That individual is currently held under a 90-day detention order granted by the court.

Both arrests stem from the tragic incident on February 13, where the couple was fatally shot inside their vehicle in a supermarket parking lot.
