Sri Lanka, Feb. 16 -- The proceedings of the newly established Second High Court established by the Judicial Service Commission to hear bribery or corruption cases will commence today.

After the new Government came to power, it provided the necessary facilities to establish a separate Courts to try bribery or corruption cases. Accordingly, on September 22 last year, a new High Court was established at No.6, Aluthkade Court Complex, Colombo to try bribery cases. It was the first time that a High Court was established in the country's judicial system to try bribery cases.
