Sri Lanka, Feb. 24 -- Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation(SLRC) received a prestigious honor at the International Artificial Intelligence Conference held in Colombo, recognizing its pioneering efforts in integrating AI technology into Sri Lanka's television and media landscape.

Gamini Bandara Menikdiwela accepted the Pioneering Commendation Paper Award on behalf of the station, marking the only recognition granted to an organization outside the university sector at this international summit.

The conference, themed "Going Beyond Artificial Intelligence Technology," was a collaborative effort between the Multidisciplinary Artificial Intelligence Research Unit (MARC) of the University of Peradeniya, the GapsQueue Institute, and UNIGAP.
