Sri Lanka, June 3 -- U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has claimed that Iran has agreed to discuss aspects of its nuclear programme that it had previously refused to negotiate, raising hopes for progress in ongoing talks between the two countries.

However, the development comes amid heightened tensions, with Iranian media reporting that Tehran has suspended indirect communications with Washington and is moving ahead with plans to fully close the Strait of Hormuz.
