Rs. 765 Mn worth five mammography machines to be added to health sector
Sri Lanka, June 1 -- The Health and Mass Media Ministry has launched a programme, under the guidance of Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, to strengthen physical resources in the public health system and provide more organised and efficient treatment services to the people.
Under this programme, the Ministry has arranged to provide five advanced mammography machines to five major hospitals that provide cancer treatment services. The machines will help detect breast cancer, the most common cancer among women, and other abnormal lumps or changes in the breast at a very early stage. They will also support follow-up treatment services.
