Sri Lanka, April 9 -- Fisheries, Aquatic and Ocean Resources Minister Ramalingam Chandrasekar told Parliament yesterday that the Government, through the Fisheries Ministry and NAQDA (National Aquaculture Development Authority), has provided compensation of around Rs. 28.8 billion for fishermen affected by the Ditwah cyclone.
"We also provided Rs.139.9 million to replace or repair fishing vessels, and providing netting gear for fishermen. It is worrying that there is an opposition party in the country today that thinks about how to seize power when the country is facing crises.
