Sri Lanka, June 26 -- About Rs 100 million of public money can be saved in an election due to the abolition of marking the finger with indelible ink, to confirm voting in elections, an election monitoring organisation said yesterday.
The Executive Director of the 'PAFFREL' organisation, Rohana Hettiarachchie, said that this decision not only saves money but is also an excellent one in every aspect.
He further described that this proposal did not emerge suddenly, but was a matter that has been discussed among political Parties, Civil organisations, and within the election sector for many years.
