Sri Lanka, Sept. 26 -- Rough seas and gusty winds are expected around the country over the next 24 hours, the Meteorology Department warned.The death toll from ongoing adverse weather rose to three, with one person still missing.

In a forecast issued yesterday (25), the department said showers or thundershowers are expected at times in sea areas from Puttalam to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle. Winds will blow south-westerly at 30-40 kmph, rising to 50-60 kmph at times in seas from Kankesanthurai to Puttalam via Mannar and from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota.

Sea areas in these zones will be fairly rough at times, with wave heights reaching 2.0-2.5 meters between Puttalam and Pottuvil via Colombo, Galle and Matara.The department wa...
